SOS: Save Our Sharks

Hi, everyone! it’s SaltySobble and I am writing my first article ever! This article is facts about sharks and how to do your part in saving them. Over 100 million sharks are killed each year!  There are over 300 types of sharks, and most shark species are threatened or endangered.

It is little known that sharks are usually not deadly. Most attacks are mistaken identity because sharks might think a surfer is a seal. Also, sharks keep fish populations stable.

Wearing bright colors in the water increases shark attack risk.

If you know a restaurant that serves shark meat and you don’t want sharks to be killed as much, you can send them a letter to ask them to stop serving that.

Another way to help out sharks is to recycle, reducing the number of plastics and microplastics in the ocean. Sharks are used for meat, cosmetics, clothing, and sometimes just for sport, and they desperately need to be saved.
